Why didn't I take any pictures? Because I'm stupid, that's why. We had a great turnout last night and added 3 new indexers! Peggy J just started last night and she's already done 150 names! We also inherited Debbie P's #s from her last ward: 560. Phew! We need those. It was really fun and i'm sorry if you missed Jane's spinach dip or all the funny names we came across. And all the orphan prisoners.

Thankful for Indexing

Thanks for all the indexing testimonies today. I'm a little sad because I guess this means I got my reward on Earth but it was a good reward and I'll take it. You guys are so good and I'm so happy that you feel the spirit of this work. I love that Robin put in the bulletin that these are not NAMES they are PEOPLE. So true. It's a good work.

Spookiest Indexing Ponderings thus Far...

I have indexed about 16,000 names. I don't say that to boast (obviously) but only to give credibility to my ponderings. In those 16,000ish names, I have had maybe 25 divorces. I used to think, "Wow. People were really committed to their marriages back then." But the more I have done, the more I have seen a frightening trend... very few divorces but MANY, MANY widows and widowers... coincidence? Or did they have other means of solving their marital strife?

What's so great about Kentucky?

The more I index, the more I wanna know. People live there forever. Their kids live there and their kids' kids live there. Nobody came from anywhere else and nobody is leaving. That's what I think when I index Kentucky. It was the same in 1910 as it is in 1930. Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky.

October is SCARY

And not because of Halloween. It's because we have done less than half this month what we did last month. Why? No throw-down from the YW? (Hope you enjoyed your cookies, Primary... all 85 of you). Conference and Stake Conference? Why can't we all just be more like the Burchetts? Poor Robin with her "indexer's elbow". Keep her in your prayers since she's keeping RS afloat. Sounds like I'm speaking in code. Alabama, Alabama, Alabama -right? Love the 1930s.

I'm working up plans to have another indexing party perhaps on Thurs, Nov. 18 at my house. It was super fun last time and we all learned a lot - not to mention indexed more than 1,000 names. mark your calendars - in pencil.
